Information for resident
Here you will find useful information for a smooth rental relationship in A-Kruunu apartments.
Parking spaces
You can ask A-Kruunu’s customer service about parking spaces.
Laundry room
All our sites have a shared laundry room. Depending on the site, you can reserve laundry shifts either by using a reservation book or a system.
Sauna time slots
You can reserve sauna services with your maintenance company. The sauna service will be charged in connection with your rent.
Club room
The club rooms in our buildings are intended for the residents’ joint events of the residents, but they can also be reserved for private events. You should contact the members of the resident’s committee about booking the space and the key. If necessary, you can contact your building’s service manager.
Home insurance
We require you to purchase home insurance.
The AsumisPlus insurance
The housing companies of A-Kruunu have a valid, extensive group accident insurance as a part of Howden Finland’s AsumisPLUS customer interest group. The insurance covers everyone permanently residing in the companies, those participating in voluntary work and, to a limited extent, persons not living in the building. The insurance is valid in the company’s yard area, shared facilities and during trips related to voluntary work. In addition to accidents, the insurance includes a key insurance in case of installing new locks or lost keys.

Electronic e-invoice
You can start receiving your rent bill conveniently as an electronic e-invoice directly to your online bank if you go to your online bank and enable A-Kruunu e-invoicing.
With its electronic format, an e-invoice sent to an online bank is an easy and secure way of paying bills. You can check and approve the bill quickly or process the bills automatically if you so choose. The bills will also be archived to your online bank.
The carbon footprint of an e-invoice is only one third of that of a paper bill.
Water fee
Each month, you must pay a water charge advance based on the number of residents. This fee is charged in addition to your rent. In 2022, the amount of the water charge advance in A-Kruunu apartments was EUR 20.00/person/month. The paid water charge advance and the actual water use are then equalised using an equalisation invoice.
Pests
If you suspect that there are bedbugs in your home, notify the maintenance company immediately.
If you see rats or any signs of rats in the property area, also contact the maintenance company immediately about this.
After the notification, a representative from the maintenance company or a pest control company will contact you and/or take the necessary measures. Carefully follow the instructions they give you.
A-Kruunu handles the costs of pest control in its properties. If you neglect the instructions provided by the pest control company and thus obstruct the control measures, you may have to pay compensation for the costs of your negligence.
Not all insects found in the home are harmful, and you can eliminate some of them yourself.
Silverfish
Silverfish thrive in warm, humid areas, such as bathrooms and near the drains in kitchens. They are mostly active at night and quickly hide when the lights are turned on. Silverfish move from one space to another through pipes and they can get through odour traps.
You can get rid of silverfish using the following methods:
• clean your home regularly
• keep spaces dry
• clean floor drains regularly
• pour boiling water into the floor drain if necessary
• stores sell pesticide-free, glue-based traps for silverfish
Long-tailed silverfish
Long-tailed silverfish have become more common as a result of online shopping orders. They eat paper and thrive in cardboard boxes and packaging materials. Their idea of paradise is a floor that is left covered with unopened moving boxes for a long time. A good way of preventing long-tailed silverfish is to unpack all cardboard packages immediately and take them to a cardboard recycling point. The same methods used to eliminate silverfish are also effective when dealing with long-tailed silverfish. See the section on silverfish.
Fruit flies
Keep the kitchen sink and counter tops clean, keep food in the cupboards and refrigerator, keep the biowaste container clean and empty the trash bin daily.
Make your own fruit fly trap:
1. Put some cold water in a low dish.
2. Add sugar, vinegar and hand soap to the water.
3. Change the mixture every few days.
The sweet smell of vinegar and sugar attract fruit flies to the trap. The hand soap breaks the surface tension of the liquid, and the fruit flies sink into the trap. You can also cover the container with plastic wrap and poke holes in it to make the trap more effective.
Saw-toothed grain beetle
A food pest, such as the saw-toothed grain beetle, may enter the home when you bring groceries home from the store. Thoroughly destroying all contaminated food items is usually enough to get rid of the saw-toothed grain beetle.
Textile pests
Textile pests include moths, bacon beetles and fur beetles, which live and reproduce more easily in an untidy environment. This is why you should air out, shake and wash textiles and vacuum clothes closets regularly. Do not leave clothing on the floor or keep dirty or damp clothes in a cupboard for long periods of time. This prevents the damage these insects can cause. If necessary, wash textiles that can tolerate hot water at 60 degrees Celsius or freeze them at a minimum temperature of -20 degrees for one week. Also thoroughly vacuum all gaps and baseboards on walls and floors. Stores also sell pesticide-free glue-based traps for fur beetles.
