Yard area
The yard area has a major impact on comfortable living, and we all have to take care of it.
Biodiversity loss is increasing at a worrying rate.
Biodiversity must be considered in the planning and management of yards and in the daily life of residents.
Dog poop:
Uncollected dog poop is dangerous for both human and animal health.
Dog poop also changes the soil and can kill trees and other plantations, at worst.
Encourage neighbours to collect dog poops in the trash. You can order stickers from toimistoassari@a-kruunu.fi
Flower bulbs:
After the Easter and spring potted flowers have bloomed, it's a good idea to plant the bulbs outside, so they'll bring joy with their blossoms in the springs to come. Do not throw away hyacinths, crocuses, daffodils and tulips. Let them dry in their pots. Once they have dried, cut off the withered parts and plant the bulbs outside, so they can continue to delight with their blossoms from one year to the next.
Bees:
Local nature and bees need our help. Let's all start rescue operations together on our balconies and yards. Read more
Yard planning:
A yard planning guide has been completed for A-Kruunu, which considers the preconditions for preserving biodiversity when planning the urban environment. The guide focus on concrete aspects of design, construction and maintenance. New yard maintenance instructions will be communicated to residents during spring and summer 2025.
The instructions can also be read here (FI)
