Puijonkuppee, which is part of the Hatsala district of Kuopio, is a residential area with different forms of housing and green and versatile outdoor areas. The area encourages communality. 


A-Kruunu's government-subsidised rental homes at Opistokuja 8 will be located in a six/seven-storey building, which will have two stairways and apartments ranging from studio apartments to family homes.  The size of the apartments varies between 29.0 m2 and 81 m2, with apartment types ranging from 1 room + kitchenette + alcove to 4 rooms + kitchenette.

Residents will also have access to shared facilities typical of A-Kruunu’s rental homes: a shared sauna, a laundry facility, a drying room and a club room. The parking spaces are located in the parking facility of Puijonkuppee Pysäkointi Oy in the neighbouring block.

The neighbourhood consists of apartment blocks that will be built around four courtyards. Some of them will also have housing-related business facilities. The courtyard of the block of Opistokuja 8 is shared by the residents of the entire block. A community centre intended for the shared use of residents as well as a day care centre and a care home have been completed in the area. A local grocery store will be completed in the neighbouring block in summer 2026.  

The Kuopio Hall located nearby has a full-scale football pitch and hosts athletics events, different ball game matches and larger public events, such as concerts and fairs. Kuopio’s landmark, the Puijo Tower, is located about one kilometre away. Of course, Puijo offers more than just the observation tower. The area boasts activities, sports opportunities and experiences for many tastes.

The diverse services of the city centre are located about one kilometre away. The city centre can be accessed conveniently, for example, along a pedestrian and cycle route. The nearest bus stops are less than 100 metres away.

There is no smoking allowed on the property. Smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on the balconies or in the property’s shared spaces and outdoor areas. The rent includes DNA’s broadband connection (25 Mbit/s). Water bills are calculated according to the volume used. Pets are welcome.
