Helsingin Pojamankatu 6
Pojamankatu 6 in Helsinki consists of one eight-storey point block with lofts and two double-storey terraced houses, one of which is connected to the whole with a pergola. The apartments of the point block have a glazed balcony or a French balcony, and the ground floors have their own terrace. The property is in the seaside area of Kruunuvuorenranta.
A shared laundry facility, drying room, sauna facilities and club facilities typical of A-Kruunu sites will be available for residents’ shared use. Solar thermal collectors will be installed on the roofs of the buildings.
The apartments range from studios to family flats (1 room + kitchenette + alcove – 5 rooms + kitchenette + alcove). The sizes of the apartments are between 31.5 m2 and 108 m2, and they are designed to support versatile urban living.
Terraced houses and apartments with lofts bring the diversity of housing to the block and offer alternatives to different life situations. The large block courtyard is in shared use by all residents.
The buildings will be situated on rocky terrain with significant changes in elevation. A public pedestrian route, running between the point block and the terraced houses, will connect the square to a wider pedestrian network that runs through the courtyards. Walled entrance terraces surround the square.
In the east, the block connects to the Kruunuvuorenranta centre with its commercial and public services, in the south, to the large playground connecting the western and southern shores of Kruunuvuorenranta and, in the west, the small-scale town house blocks and the waterfront promenade. In the north, there is a sports park next to the daycare centre, and the Kaivoskallio Nature Reserve begins at the edge of the park.
In summer 2027, Helmi multi-purpose building will be completed to the south of the block. The project will implement facilities for comprehensive schools in Finnish and Swedish, daycare centre, youth facilities and playground support facilities, as well as a sports centre. Stansvik beach area has been planned to the south of the school.
The former oil silo recalls the historical heritage of the area. Silo 468, formerly an oil storage silo and now an event venue, was integrated into the Haakoninlahti light art tour in 2012, after the oil silos were decommissioned. The courtyard of Pojamankatu 6 is also part of the light artwork.
The area can easily be reached by bicycle via the Kruunuvuorensilta Bridge, and in 2027 passenger traffic on the tramway will also be opened. By car, the area is accessible through the Herttoniemi Strait bridge.
The completion of the Crown Bridges will significantly shorten the travel time to the city centre, and the tram can stop in Korkeasaari, for example.
The area has approximately 6 km of shoreline, nature reserves and outdoor trails, which give Kruunuvuorenranta a distinctively seaside residential character.
There is no smoking allowed on the property. Smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on the balconies or in the property’s shared spaces and outdoor areas. The rent includes a DNA broadband connection (10 Mbit/s). Water bills are calculated according to the volume used. Pets are welcome.
